Dick Solar has been a key member of the PNAA Board of Directors for the past several years. As Secretary, he not only helped keep us organized, but also served as an enthusiastic promoter of our activities in the aerospace community.
Following his retirement after 15 years with Honeywell, Dick and his wife have relocated to sunny Florida. He was met by his wife on July 3rd, after a 9 day cross-country solo flight in his 1947 Luscombe Airplane. He clocked 36 hours riding low and slow, and says he had a great time, but will consider a faster craft next time.
Dick is not sure exactly what will fill his time during this next phase of his life, but fully intends to continue his lifelong love of avionics. He hopes to remain active in aircraft restoration work, and possibly as a flight instructor.
Dick will be missed by PNAA and we wish him the best.
