About Our Speakers

Cheryl KringleCheryl Kringle first joined Aero Law Group in 2008. She represents clients in the purchase, sale, and leasing of aircraft. She advises clients on a myriad of laws related to operating business and personal aircraft, and helps them structure their ownership and negotiate related contracts including management and charter agreements. She also advises clients in aircraft fractional ownership transactions. 

Prior to joining Aero Law Group, Ms. Kringle worked at Tousley Brain Stephens PLLC representing clients in civil litigation matters. She also served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Washington State Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, prosecuting civil violations of the Consumer Protection Act. She engaged in outreach and education efforts to teach consumers how to avoid becoming “victims of unfair or deceptive acts or practices in trade or commerce.” 

Before going to law school, Ms. Kringle was a flight instructor and charter pilot, working for companies at Boeing Field, Oakland International Airport and Troutdale, Oregon. She also worked for several years as the general manager of Aero West Flight Center, a fixed base operator in Oregon. She holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot license and Cessna Citation type rating, as well as single and multi-engine instrument flight instructor certificates.


Kevin AustinKevin Austin founded the Aero Law Group in 2000 after an extensive career in Aviation and Law with Cooley Godward LLP in Palo Alto, California and the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. His practice combines the areas of aviation, emerging growth companies and equity and debt financing.

Mr. Austin represents numerous clients in domestic and international transactions involving the sale, lease and exchange of commercial and executive aircraft, (from Cessnas to 747s) including the acquisition of the first Boeing Business Jet. He also represents investment bankers in their aircraft and airline investments and has worked with emerging and established commercial airlines in equity, debt and lease financings. He also has experience in the application of the bribery provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Mr. Austin received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1993. He attended the University of Washington and received a B.A. in business administration (accounting) from Seattle University in 1980.

Mr. Austin currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Future of Flight Foundation in Mukilteo, Washington, a leading center of learning and innovation for science, technology and aviation.

Mr. Austin is a member of the state bars of California, Colorado and Washington, the American Bar Association – Forum on Air and Space Law and Aircraft Financing Subcommittee, and the National Business Aviation Association.
