Akhila is the co-founder and CTO of Seattle based smart manufacturing startup XemelgoXemelgo's mission is to bring the latest in Industry 4.0 technologies to mid-size manufacturers. Xemelgo provides turnkey offerings for inventory, assets and work order tracking. Before entering the start-up scene, Akhila led multiple engineering teams, most recently as Director of Engineering at Hitachi.

Akhila is passionate about building and growing teams. She looks to tap into each person's super power and allow them to achieve their full potential. Akhila grew up in a manufacturing town in India where her dad was executive at one of India's largest power companies. She has a deep passion for the manufacturing space and wants to translate all of her learning into real value for end customers.  Outside of work, Akhila loves spending time with her 2-year-old daughter. She also loves travelling and hiking. 

 


 

Jessica Kinman PhotoJessica Kinman - Dassault Systèmes, Senior Manager

Jessica Kinman started on the manufacturing floor as an electrician at Boeing, working her way up to management responsible for aircraft certification on developmental programs and eventually moved to business consulting, software design and development. She has 13 years’ experience in Engineering and Manufacturing and is currently an Aerospace & Defense Industry Solution Experience Senior Manager with Dassault Systèmes leading business transformations for customers worldwide through consulting engagements to define their business strategies. 

She earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon Institute of Technology. She also earned a BA in Business Management and Operations and an MBA from Washington State University. Jessica is the Vice-Chair for Women in Manufacturing for Washington State. 

  


 

Jon EdwardsJon Edwards - HYDRO Systems USA, President

Jon Edwards was named President of HYDRO Systems USA in October 2018. In this role, Jon leads all aspects of Sales, Operations, Finance and Human Resources for the HYDRO USA subsidiary, a team of 136 people and approximately 55m Revenue. Jon is currently focused on bringing together a high performing team to drive HYDRO USA through its next stage of growth and transformation, including the introduction of lean management.

Prior to this role, Jon served as Vice President Sales for HYDRO Systems USA, where he lead the Sales and Service team, growing the business by over 100% in 4 years. Before relocating to Washington State from the UK, Jon was responsible for the HYDRO UK business, focused on the Rolls-Royce account, where he lead the delivery of tooling programs to Rolls-Royce for the Trent XWB and Trent 1000 engine development programs. Prior to joining HYDRO in 2009, Jon spent 10 years in Caterpillar and Land Rover working in new product development, creating a strong foundational understanding of engineering and operations managementThroughout his career Jon has built great teams. He has a passion to find and engage strong people who are able to bring their talent, potential and experience together to grow and learn.

HYDRO Systems has 50 years as a class leading supplier of Aircraft Maintenance Equipment, including Ground Support Equipment, Licensed Airframe and Engine Maintenance Tooling, Engine transportation stands. The global business is privately German owned, headquartered in Germany, has 15 locations in 9 countries including here in Kent, WA.

 


 

Jim Lazarus PhotoJim Lazarus - Diehl Aviation, Head of OEM Sales, Americas

Jim Lazarus is the Director of OEM Sales for North and South America and is responsible for all Sales and Business Development activities at the major OEM’s within the region (Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, etc.).  He is based within the Diehl facility in Everett, WA.
Mr. Lazarus spent the past 20 years within the aerospace industry.  Previously he was Dir. of Sales at Broetje Automation in Renton, WA and was responsible for Boeing along with other key OEM’s.  Before his time in automation, he worked 12 years at HYDRO Systems as VP of Sales and Business Development working directly with Airlines, MRO’s, and aircraft OEM’s.


Mr. Lazarus grew up near Portland, OR and then attended Montana State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology.  He continues his involvement of the industry as an active member of both SAE and SME.
