PNAA is a 501C6 Trade Organization that represents the Pacific Northwest Aerospace Cluster: North America’s largest commercial aerospace manufacturing cluster which is centered just outside of Seattle, Washington.  With members and affiliates around the world, PNAA strengthens the manufacturing supply chain through dynamic events designed to inform aerospace leaders, connect aerospace interests, and inspire industry collaboration and innovation.  

PNAA has 18 board members who are responsible for oversight of PNAA’s CEO and Executive Director, Nikki Malcom.

Nikki Malcom

About Nikki

Nikki Malcom, PNAA’s CEO and Executive Director has over 20 years of experience in the aerospace & defense market. She has served the industry through dynamic sales roles supporting organizations from materials, testing and manufacturing. Helping companies ensure diversity in the industry across aviation both commercial and defense, space and other industries such a medical devices and consumer products.

She has a deep commitment to supporting the aerospace market. Her passion for the industry shows through dedication to supporting companies to find ways to innovate and diversify their product or market offering in line with the changing needs of the industry. She also serve in advisory roles for the Seattle Chapter of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Lake Washington Technical institute MDT Advisory committee.

Paul Michaels

About Paul

Paul Michaels is a production savvy Team Motivator with the ability to identify, address, and evolve complex initiatives by managing collaboration between all operations including Account Management & Customer Service, Sales, Product Management, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality & Compliance to facilitate the delivery of customer centric solutions and revenue growth while maintaining extremely high employee retention rate. Focus on team loyalty, collaborative profitability, and forecast accuracy.

He is a demonstrated leader with the ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy in deadline situations. He’s extremely organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills in relating to and working with executive management, team members, customers, industry vendors and partners.

Tan Le

About Tan

Tan has practiced public accounting since 2009. He has participated in all phases of tax preparation for a variety of businesses. Tan focuses on federal, state, and international tax matters for owners and their businesses, making sure they meet tax compliance requirements and providing solutions to help them manage their tax liability. His experience includes accelerated depreciation, tax methods, IC-DISC entities, and tax credits.

Monica Dooley

About Monica

Monica has over 20 years of expertise in finance, accounting, and aerospace. As the Director of Finance at Skills Inc., a self-supporting nonprofit and leading aerospace supplier, she supports an inclusive workplace while ensuring the production of high-quality products in advanced manufacturing.

With her extensive experience across both finance and operations, Monica plays a crucial role in shaping financial strategy, managing budgets, and enhancing operational efficiency. Throughout her career, she has been instrumental in driving the growth and success of Skills Inc., aligning her efforts with the company’s mission to expand employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Monica holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Washington State University and is committed to ongoing professional development. She applies her deep knowledge to ensure her organization’s financial sustainability and operational excellence. In addition to her technical acumen, Monica is passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within the aerospace sector.

Orlando Tantico

About Orlando

Orlando provides leadership and direction as the Business Operations Manager for The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc., supporting aerospace manufacturing operations that include machining, assembly, and supply‑chain execution for major OEM and Tier‑1 partners. In this role, he drives operational alignment, workflow optimization, and scheduler‑ready processes that strengthen delivery performance and support the organization’s mission.

Orlando brings years of experience in the Aerospace Industry, including 20 years with The Boeing Company and many years with suppliers across the Pacific Northwest. His background spans large assemblies, sheet metal fabrication, NC machining, injection molding, Lean manufacturing, and Quality systems.

Before joining Lighthouse, Orlando served in leadership roles at Pioneer Industries, where he supported Procurement, Supply Chain, and Customer Service operations. His work in social‑enterprise manufacturing continues at Lighthouse, where he is committed to creating meaningful employment opportunities and supporting individuals in building strong, sustainable careers.

Orlando is passionate about advancing aerospace manufacturing in the region and supporting mission‑driven organizations that make a positive impact in the community.

Phontel Shami

About Phontel

Phontel is the Technical Director of Enterprise Program Management. She leads Enterprise initiatives focused on deploying industry best practices and standards that ensure superior program performance, enabling Blue Origin to scale through rapid growth. She is excited to be part of Blues Vision and Mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of earth.

Prior to that, Phontel was an Executive leader at Boeing for over nine years. Her last position there was as the Director of Program Management for Manufacturing, Safety and Quality. In this role, she is focused on One Boeing Production System and alignment to the Enterprise strategies, goals, and objectives. Phontel had responsibility for the definition and integration of Operations and Safety metrics across the programs and fabrication, along with digital transformation for manufacturing.

Phontel was the Director of the 737 MAX and 787-10 Program Management Offices. She was named to the MAX role at launch of the program towards the end of 2011. In this assignment she led a disciplined planning, commitment, and control process, which included adherence to the enterprise gated process. She brought strong functional excellence, implementing program management best practices with an emphasis on program execution and control elements. Responsibilities also included leading an integrated management system to ensure integration across all functions, Airplane Development and the 737 Program. In addition to her 737 MAX assignment, Phontel was named Director of the 787-10 in early 2016. In this role her focus was on leading program execution, functional excellence, and integration between 787 Airplane Development, Airplane Programs, and Boeing South Carolina.

Phontel was a senior manager on the 787 Program where she led program management responsibilities for the 787-9. This included planning and execution of the enterprise gated process, implementation of the -9 technology initiatives, blockpoint strategy for the 787 Program, and integration of the -9 into the 787 production system. Phontel also lead the development of recovery plans for propulsion performance to plan issues. She established the configuration and control offerability of 787 engine thrust, airplane model combinations, and airplane performance packages.

In 2008, Phontel lead the Program Management Office in Propulsion Systems. Her responsibilities include planning, commitment, and control using program management best practices. An emphasis was placed on development programs, improving the work statement management process, enhancing the management information system, and execution of BCA and Propulsion Systems strategic goals.

Phontel moved into management in 2005 within the BCA Production Business System Integration organization. She led the development of a new change management process and tool, along with an integrated project management team for business processes and information technology systems. Her responsibilities included developing a budgeting process that would enable the business to achieve functional excellence work statement without compromise to the production business systems, while faced with significant funding challenges.

When joining the Boeing Company, Phontel was a member of the Commercial Aviation Services organization. During her years there she focused on engineering, project management, finance, and program management for new and derivative airplane programs.

Phontel earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and began her career working at a small civil engineering design and consulting firm. In 2008, Phontel earned her Executive MBA from the University of Washington. She was then nominated to participate in the Boeing Program Manager’s Development Program, class of 2010.

Phontel served as a board member for the American Red Cross for six years and is nearing the end of her Seafair board term. She mentors others, sharing her experiences and providing career guidance. Phontel resides in Mukilteo, enjoys summers and the outdoors, and is especially grateful for quality time with her daughter and son.

About Carlo

Specialties: Advanced business development, marketing, facilitation, leadership and relationship building. 12+ years in building solid relationships with Customers. Operational and Organizational understanding of the Largest Aerospace Company in the World.

Russ Nielsen

About Russ

Russ Nielsen has been employed in the manufacturing industry since 1985, working for both Aerospace and Commercial based companies. From 2005 to 2015 he was the Americas/Western Region Sales Manager for Pexco LLC and in June 2015 joined the Aero-Plastics team as the Director of Business Development.

In his free time Russ enjoys spending time on the water, Skiing, Hiking and DIY projects with his wife Karen at their home and family vacation property.
